After a number of tests, I came up with the conclusion that the Ghost Stumps are acting strange because of this strange puppet called a . This means we'll have to eliminate Smirking Ghost Stumps and remove the as well. Maybe defeating 100 would help you find one?

It hasn't been long since the Ghost Stumps started acting strange. Frankly, I'm not sure which of the two, the Smirking Ghost Stumps or Ghost Stumps, actually carries the puppet.

So I just suggest eliminating any form of Ghost Stumps. Oh by the way, if you manage to defeat all 100 of them, but still can't find a puppet, then just come back here. We'll have to rethink the situation then.
