I received a word that the Puppeteer may be connected to him. It is true that his forte used to be putting curses on the dolls, so it's not totally out of question, so I'd appreciate it if you can find out some more information on Grendel the Really Old.

This is just in case we find an item that may put all of us in grave danger.

Appearance-wise, Grendel the Really Old has the look of a warm-hearted old wizard, but... appearance is definitely not everything. We can only prevent the rebirth of Black Mage by questioning everything we see.
